Environmental and Interrelated Social Issues

Premdor is committed to developing and maintaining a responsible position when addressing Environmental and related social or economic issues.

As a national provider of joinery products, and member of an international manufacturing Group, Premdor embraces the challenge of the quickly evolving environmental disciplines now expected by Government, Industry and the wider Community. This applies equally to how we manufacture, how we procure materials, how we distribute our products and to our product specifications.

Accreditation to ISO14001 is in place at our main manufacturing plant, and our other production sites are moving towards similar certification. This formally controlled approach guides best practice in all manufacturing and logistical processes, targeting key disciplines such as waste reduction, emission control, energy use, and water consumption.

In addition Premdor acknowledges the value of auditable independent certification within the supply chain. Accordingly several principle product lines are already manufactured and supplied under full environmental Chain of Custody control, based on CEPET approved schemes such as FSC or PEFC.

Other products will become similarly certified over coming months based on the procurement and sourcing disciplines demanded of our timber and timber based material suppliers with whom we are working closely.
